Philip-Lorca diCorcia’s Lucky Thirteen (2004) is a series of thirteen portraits, each of a stripper as she performs on the pole. Though these women are in motion, the camera captures the subject in a sculptural pose, spot-lit like a monument. Given the sheer size of each print, the effect is certainly monumental.
